Zafar Malik Washington, D.C. — FBI Director Kash Patel hosted Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Headquarters in Washington, reaffirming the importance of cooperation between Pakistan and the United States on security-related matters.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Patel said it was an honor to welcome Minister Naqvi and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continued support in safeguarding US interests in the region.
“The FBI deeply appreciates Pakistan’s support as we protect US interests in the region,” Patel stated.
During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding collaboration in several key areas, including counterterrorism financing, cybercrime investigations, specialized training programs, and the sharing of resources and expertise.
Patel emphasized the significance of the relationship, saying:
“Our partnership is critical, and we look forward to achieving even greater success together in the future.”
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Washington after representing Pakistan at the Fifth United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS) in New York. During the summit, he also held meetings with a number of regional and international officials to discuss security cooperation and law enforcement initiatives.
This was not the first meeting between the two officials. Naqvi had previously met Patel in Washington in September 2025, describing the discussions as highly productive. At that time, both leaders discussed cooperation on illegal immigration, counterterrorism efforts, and officer exchange programs aimed at strengthening professional ties between the two countries.
The latest meeting reflects the ongoing commitment of Pakistan and the United States to enhance cooperation in security, intelligence sharing, cyber investigations, and counterterrorism operations.
